Position Overview
Title: Custodian
Location: Greenville, SC 29615 (on-site, across multiple buildings)
Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00pm
Starting Pay: $19 - $22/hour, based on experience (hourly, full-time)

Job Summary

Our Custodian keeps our manufacturing, office facilities, and company vehicles clean, organized, and welcoming across multiple buildings in the local area. In this role, you will maintain a routine cleaning schedule for trash, restrooms, floors, and vehicles, along with periodic deep-cleaning of windows, carpets, leather furniture, and tile and grout. Our Custodian also pitches in on special projects as needed, from facilities upgrades to equipment installs.

We're looking for someone who can work independently and get the job done with excellence with minimal day-to-day supervision, and who has their eye on more. We promote from within, and team members who show strong ownership, reliability, and sound judgment have real opportunities to take on more responsibility over time, including training other team members and eventually moving into a lead role.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Empty trash and recycling throughout production and office areas
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, restocking supplies as needed
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
  • Clean company vehicles on a regular basis (interior and exterior)
  • Wipe down and tidy common areas, break rooms, and shared spaces
  • Clean windows, carpets, and tile/grout on a rotating deep-cleaning schedule
  • Perform special cleaning of leather chairs and other like furniture
  • Assist with special projects as needed, such as helping install lighting and other facilities projects
  • Flag facilities issues proactively and suggest improvements to cleaning schedules or supply management
  • Miscellaneous duties


Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a workload with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites throughout the day
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40-50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods
  • Comfortable using standard cleaning equipment and handling cleaning chemicals safely
  • Detail-oriented
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated initiative, someone who spots what needs doing and does it, rather than waiting to be told
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • NOTE: Employment requires passing a background check and drug screening


Desired Qualifications

  • Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience
  • Prior experience leading, training, or scheduling other staff, even informally
  • Professional experience with basic building maintenance tasks
  • Technical expertise in a maintenance field
  • Comfortable communicating clearly with teammates and management about progress, problems, or ideas
